A coil metal slitting line was put into operation at TMK-INOX (a joint project of RUSNANO and TMK) at the site in Kamensk-Uralsky, as part of the strategic program for reconstruction of the stainless tubes production. The equipment was supplied by the Swiss company SYTCO.
The new line is design for slitting of metal coils weighing up to 30 tons, up to 1600 mm wide and 0.4-6.0 mm thick. The unit, manufactured in accordance with EU standards, provides a high cutting speed - up to 200 m / min.
Taking into account this new equipment, TMK-INOX has the technical capability for the annual production of eight thousand tons of stainless tubular products with a diameter of 8-114 mm, confined to the best world samples, as well as foreign and domestic standards, for the motor-vehicle, food, energy and construction industries.
“The installed slitting line will allow us to provide with skelps our own electric-welded tubes production both in Kamensk-Uralsky and in Moscow,” noted TMK-INOX CEO Leonid Marchenko. "The ability to slit the blank for incoming orders with no outside help will significantly reduce the time for tube production and optimize production logistics."
